Though the government has permitted private schools to function, nearly 80 % of the students are studying in Government schools. The students are mostly underprivileged and they need better care.
As per the report submitted by the Annual Survey on Education Report (ASER) 2019, the quality of our education is pathetic. More than 50% of our students up to 8th standard are not in a position to read and write. Their arithmetic standard is also very poor.
Absolutely not. Practically it has given a greater impetus and thrust in overall performance. It is a great support for the teachers.
· Children from the underprivileged society are not inclined to the need for education and their family environment is not motivating them, in general.
· Over the years, enough thrust and seriousness were not given to the quality. The only enrolment was the thrust.
· Mostly government teachers are entrusted with other enumeration duties and election duties. They go on training during school days. They do not maitain a continuity with taking classes.
· The whole of 1st& 2nd standard classes and 3rd & 4th standard classes are being handled by a single teacher. The combination of English medium and Tamil medium is a problem for teaching. Further, nearly 50% of the students are below the expected standard.
Yes. We have got the written approval to adopt 8 schools in Chennai,. Now Government has permitted even HMs of schools to permit NGOs to take up activities.
The government is in need of support from Philanthropists and Corporates. The government is willing to accept our support for changing the situation to the best. Almost all schools need to support one way or the other to empower students.
Certainly. Especially our summer coaching and publicity for government free education in government schools has motivated parents to admit their children here. We could improve the quality on reading and writing. We have done well for providing extracurricular activities, which is totally deprived in government schools.
Other than building and some teachers to teach, there is no support to children on other curricula. Only participation from NGOs can change the scenario. Our support has improved most of the schools.
Edupassion has started a special coaching centre for students of 4th 5th and 6th standard students, which is totally free. Here special attention is paid to 32 selected students.
Our support is totally need-based and pro-active. Not to look into the cause. Providing solutions in the end result is deprivation of the underprivileged students.
There is no limit. Based the financial support, we can work for a whole lot of Government schools.
Minimum Rs 60000/per year per school, only to provide a teacher to take up remedial classes, to upgrade reading, writing, and arithmetic skill of students from 1st to 8th std. Apart from that skilled support, spending on school infra, materials for learning, furniture, and aesthetics, will be a greater advantage to make government schools as equivalent to others.
